SGI Region

 

The Southeast Arkansas Growth Initiative (SGI) is a 14-county (Arkansas, Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Cleveland, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Grant, Jefferson, Lincoln, Lonoke, Pulaski, and Saline) economic development strategic planning effort that began in February of 2010 to organize area leadership to pursue ways for the region to be competitive in the global economy.

Southeast Arkansas is a vibrant region. Our workforce is future-looking with high skills and aptitude that match and drive future innovation and opportunities. We have strong regional collaboration with widespread community engagement. Our region is highly-competitive on a national and global scale with a well-crafted and worthy reputation.
SGI is a dynamic regional economic development and workforce enhancement initiative that will:
Foster entrepreneurial partnerships and investment to catalyze innovative opportunities for regional business growth
 
Improve regional infrastructure to create enhanced mobility, connectivity, and business opportunities
 
Foster partnership-based growth in strategically-targeted industries and sectors of focus
 
Create an accessible, integrated, and comprehensive talent development system that fuels the region’s competitiveness in the global economy…
…through sustained engagement of regional leaders and stakeholders and strategic alignment and investment of regional assets and resources.
