The Industrial Foundation is the developer and manager of Jefferson Industrial Park, an 850-acre complex owned by The Alliance and located in the northwestern portion of the city. The industrial park is home to some of the area's largest employers as well as numerous small and intermediate-sized facilities of local, regional and national firms. Protective covenants govern land use in the park and assure that it will continue to be known as one of the state's premier locations.
In addition, The Alliance has transferred to The Industrial Foundation the responsibility for planning, developing and marketing a 1,500-acre technology and research campus, The Bioplex, on property flanking the FDA's National Center for Toxicological Research in northern Jefferson County. The property, formerly a part of the Pine Bluff Arsenal, was deeded to The Alliance in 2001 by the Department of Defense for the specific purpose of creating The Bioplex.
